Please join us for a collaborative theatre performance by NMSU students in the American Southwest Theatre Company and the NMSU Theatre Department. This program is free and open to the public. Join us for this all-ages, free community workshop that is part of the "Wendy Red Star: The Maniacs (We’re Not The Best, But We’re Better Than The Rest)," exhibition programming. Bring images of your favorite band (on regular paper is fine) to the gallery, and we’ll provide markers, pencils, cardboard, glue, scrapbooking decoratives, and magazines for you to create a collage of your favorite band! Gallery staff is available to take complimentary digital photos of participants, if desired. This event is open to the public. The exhibition will be on view for attendees to experience. No reservations required.

Join us for an exciting panel discussion, moderated by Marisa Sage, University Art Gallery Director, and featuring Julie Sasse, Chief Curator of Modern, Contemporary, and Latin American Art, Tucson Museum of Art; Nadiah Rivera Fellah, Guest Curator, Newark Museum, and Art History PhD Candidate, CUNY Graduate Center; and Michelle J. Lanteri, “The Maniacs (We’re Not The Best, But We’re Better Than The Rest)” Guest Curator, University Art Gallery at NMSU, and Mellon Pre-Doctoral Fellow, The University of Oklahoma. The panel will focus on Apsáalooke (Crow) artist Wendy Red Star’s career and how her current “The Maniacs” site-specific installation and earlier projects intersect with the contemporary art world at-large. This free event is open to the public.
