Our first annual Las Cruces Pecan Festival coming to Youngs Park April 12-14, 2024. It is being put on with the help of Wee Warriors Project, Visit Las Cruces, NMSU, NMDA, Bravo Mic, and volunteer community members.
This festival will highlight the pecan industry and history in our region, which includes El Paso. Very few people know that New Mexico is the second largest pecan producing state in the nation and that Dona Ana county is the number 1 pecan producing county in the USA.
There will be cooking demonstrations (using pecans in main dishes, in hordevours, etc), competitions (both food and art), entertainment (antique tractors and live entertainment), shopping (all vendors will have to have at least one pecan related item), and, of course, food (all food trucks will have pecans in their entrees).
It is a community event and all proceeds will go to the Wee Warrior Project that helps medically fragile newborns and their families in New Mexico.
